This course provides an in-depth study and hands-on activity in delivering, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing current production Caterpillar Generator Sets operating as single units, equipped with or without a control panel. To become qualified, the participants will successfully perform key tasks selected from topics presented in the course.
Voltage Regulation
This course will cover foundational electrical principles and theories, ohms law, series and parallel circuits, and voltage drop. Also covered will be electrical connectors (new and old), electrical schematic, batteries, starting/charging systems as well as ET, SIS web, and PowerNet.

Caterpillar switchgear and transfer switches are also covered. The participants will successfully perform key tasks selected from topics presented in the course including parallel operation and necessary adjustments. Special Instructions: Students are asked to bring a calculator and safety glasses to class.
