Get a jumpstart on a great career working with CAT equipment. The Caterpillar Dealer Service Technician Program is a sure catalyst for personal growth and a rewarding, lifelong career. The internship is centered solely around CAT equipment training through the Heavy Equipment & Diesel Technology Department at San Joaquin Delta College in California and Oregon's Portland Community College, Rock Creek Campus.

During the two year program, students will spend approximately half of each term in CAT technical and general education course work. The remaining time will be spent in a paid, on-the-job training (OJT) internship at a local Peterson dealership, allowing the student to put theory into practice. We call it our "Learn while you earn" program. Caterpillar Dealer Service Technician students will earn an Associate of Science degree from SJDC or PCC that may be transferable to a four-year college or university.

Upon completion of the entire program, the graduate will receive a state journey-level certificate. The above intensive method of study and practice prepares individuals to be the kind of high performance technicians that Peterson needs.
