Stepping Up to the Starting Line for Relay for Life

On April 25, Peterson employees turned out in droves to help raise money for the Relay for Life cancer walk, which took place May 18 and 19. Armadillo Willy's Road Hog BBQ pulled into the Peterson Power parking lot and served a fund raiser lunch of BBQ brisket or chicken sandwiches, chips, and a drink for a $10 donation. All the hard work with the arrangements and set up paid off with a $940 donation for the cancer awareness event.

But the good will didn't stop with Willy's. On May 4, Peterson hosted another fund raiser, celebrating Cinco de Mayo just a little early. Again, the generous (and hungry!) staff enjoyed a tasty lunch and enabled Peterson to make an additional $870 donation to the cause.

Relay for Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for the research and programs of the American Cancer Society. During the relay event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. Sponsors support the walkers and runners with generous donations.

Thank you, Peterson employees, for your continued support of this commendable cause.
