  1. We are northern California, Oregon, and southwest Washington's authorized Caterpillar dealer.
There's no doubt about it: when it comes to heavy equipment and electrical power generation gear, Caterpillar is the best in the business. No other manufacturer comes close. Plus, Caterpillar has been designing and building its products in the United States for over one hundred years, so many people have felt a lifetime affinity for Cat gear. Working for a Cat dealer gives them the opportunity to work with Cat equipment every day!

  2. We are the Bay Area and North Coast's authorized International Trucks dealer.
In 2010, Peterson acquired the Bay Area International Trucks dealership, and we've been growing fast! Many Peterson employees joined the company because they are fans of the International brand'they look forward to daily opportunities to sell, rent, or service the big rigs they've known and loved all their lives!

  3. Peterson has been around since 1936.
Many Peterson employees are proud to work for a company that has been around for over 80 years. In today's world where companies come and go, Peterson people enjoy knowing that their business has weathered many storms and is still thriving and helping its customers grow their businesses. In fact, we've grown substantially, with two major acquisitions in the past five years alone!

  4. Peterson has a great reputation.
Peterson's most important corporate core value is Customer First. Peterson thrives on repeat business and referrals because Peterson employees routinely go the extra mile to make sure that their customers are happy. Peterson employees routinely stay with the company until they retire, often after working their way through a variety of interesting and exciting positions.

Many people who work at Peterson cited the company's leadership as one of the reasons they're happy with their jobs. Peterson's leaders represent the full range of dealership experience: Duane Doyle, the company's CEO and owner, is a journeyman mechanic who grew up working on the shop floors. Jeff Goggin, Peterson's COO, got his start pulling parts in the company's warehouse. And Peterson's future leaders are working their way through the ranks right now!

  9. Peterson is a family-owned company.
Peterson is not a faceless corporation; we're a family business that is now on its third-generation of ownership. Duane Doyle, Peterson's CEO and owner, is Howard Peterson's'the company's founder'grandson. Duane's children are now working their way through leadership positions in anticipation of the day that they will run the company. And we're all part of the tradition: Peterson people are a close-knit group who appreciate the values and environment that can only be found at a family business.

Peterson employees come to our 100,000-plus square mile territory from all walks of life and all over the world. They're drawn by the incredible variety and quality of life that our locations have to offer: from world-class food and nightlife in San Francisco and Portland to the snowy peaks of Mount Shasta and Mount Hood; college towns like Eugene, Berkeley, and Chico; or farmland and world-class wine-producing regions throughout our territory… We have it all.
