Peterson's U Dozer

Buster Peterson's first commercial success was the U dozer. Its U-shaped blade combined the characteristics of the angle dozer and straight blade with front, back and corner tilt capabilities to yield a bigger scoop under greater control. Buster patented the U Dozer in October 1949 which was later bought by Caterpillar where it was integrated into their product line and became as generic as dirt in the industry.
