Peterson's Heavy Duty Towable Rippers
Peterson designed and built a number of giant towable rippers, ranging from 15 to 28 tons, during the 50s for tough rock and hardpan work. One customer earned a reputation in subsoil work in the Central Valley with his 22-ton Peterson ripper towed and pushed by four CAT D9Gs. Later, he upgraded to Quad D9s with a rear-mounted ripper and got the same impressive results.
