Peterson's 988 Bonus Bucket

When 988 wheel loaders first came out in the early 1970s, they were a tough sale because of their small bucket. It took 2 passes to fill an end-dump and slowed cycle times way down. The Bonus Bucket was Peterson's answer to the

frustration of being unable to sell 988s. It was designed with the hinge pins to go up inside the bucket with a capacity almost twice the size of the stock bucket. And it could load a double end-dump in one pass per trailer. After that, Peterson started selling 988s like popcorn.       back
